High Blood Sugar Symptoms

Symptoms of High Blood Sugar: Some of the common symptoms of high blood sugar are:

  • Urinating often more than usual is the most common symptom of high blood sugar. Moreover the urine is colorless and odorless.
  • Feeling thirsty and wanting to drink water more than usual is another symptom of high blood sugar.
  • Feeling constant hunger.
  • Feeling tired and exhausted even after complete rest and sleep.
  • Sudden loss of weight without any dietary change.
  • Having visual problems like blurriness or white patches is also a common symptom of high blood sugar.

The symptoms of high blood sugar are difficult to identify due to the fact that they are very common. A high level of blood sugar itself is a symptom of diabetes. The common high blood sugar  symptoms are:

1. Frequent Thirst

2. Frequent Hunger

3. Frequent Urination

4. Feeling sleepy (Fatigue)

5. Dry Mouth

6. Itchy or Dry Skin

7. Male Impotence

8. Blurred Vision

9. Weight Loss

10. Poor wound healing

However, it is also possible that a person may not experience any symptoms of high blood sugar level (hyperglycemia). The first 3 symptoms of high blood sugar level as mentioned above are referred as classic hyperglycemia triad.

While it may be difficult to diagnose a problem with hyperglycemia on the basis of mild high blood sugar level symptoms as listed above, the moderate signs  of high blood sugar level should get your attention. Prolonged high levels of glucose in the blood inside the body can damage organs – including the heart,  kidneys and urinary tract – for example. If you are diagnosed with symptoms of blood sugar – high, moderate or severe, you should take all necessary measures to prevent the permanent damage to your body and reduce the amount of glucose present in the blood.
