High blood sugar also known as hyperglycemia is a health condition in which a high amount of glucose is present in blood. Usually in a person with hyperglycemia or high blood sugar the blood sugar level is around or abobe 180 mg/dl or in excess of 10 mmol/L. However, the high blood sugar level (hyperglycaemia) symptoms may begin to feel later when the blood sugar level becomes higher than 260/350 mg/dl.
Chronic high blood sugar levels of more than 125 mg/dl may damage some organs.
